YKWA and PERWIRA Gianyar Provide Aid to Orphans in Bona Kelod

GIANYAR | The Kaori Welas Asih Foundation (YKWA), led by Ni Kadek Winie Kaori Intan Mahkota, together with the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (PERWIRA) Gianyar, carried out a social outreach program on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, by distributing food supplies, prayer clothing, and school equipment to four orphans in Banjar Bona Kelod, Blahbatuh District, Gianyar Regency.

The beneficiaries were four children under 17 years old: I Gusti Ayu Andita Kirana Putri (5th grade), I Gusti Ngurah Arya Sedana (6th grade), I Gusti Ayu Dinda Verlita (3rd grade junior high school), and I Gusti Ayu Liana Arnelita (2nd grade vocational school). Their father had passed away, while their mother has since remarried. The children are now under the care of their grandparents, I Gusti Made Arimbawa and Jro Sekar.

During the event, Winie Kaori, who also serves as Chairwoman of PERWIRA Gianyar, accompanied by Treasurer Ni Wayan Nilawati, emphasized that the assistance was a swift response to community information about the children’s condition. The aid included rice, eggs, prayer attire such as saput and udeng, school supplies, and cash donations amounting to Rp 1.5 million.

“We want to share love through basic necessities, prayer clothing, and school needs for these four children, three girls and one boy aged around 10 to 16 years old. Hopefully, this support will benefit the family,” said Winie Kaori.

She further underlined the importance of ensuring that orphaned children are not seen as a burden but rather as blessings entrusted by God who deserve proper health and education.

“The most important thing is not to give up. Education must continue. After graduation, we hope they will maintain communication so we can help find job opportunities in Gianyar or through PERWIRA’s network,” she added.

PERWIRA Gianyar, which has around 20–30 members, has been actively involved in both social and educational activities. In this initiative, the association also organized a shared meal and a community gathering with the orphans at a member’s residence in Bona Kelod.

“Instead of hosting social gatherings in luxurious restaurants, sometimes it is more meaningful to hold them with people in need, to share empathy and compassion. A simple life can be full of meaning,” Winie Kaori remarked.

The children’s grandparents, I Gusti Made Arimbawa and Jro Sekar, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the assistance.

“We sincerely thank YKWA and PERWIRA Gianyar for supporting our grandchildren. We hope they will continue to receive help, especially for their education,” they said.
