Balinese Philanthropist Winie Kaori Distributes Wheelchairs to Stroke Patients in Bangli

BANGLI – When we are healthy, it is a noble act to visit and support relatives or neighbors who are ill. Such compassion and care are values that can be learned from Ni Kadek Winie Kaori, a Balinese philanthropist and founder of the Kaori Welas Asih Foundation (YKWA). Despite her busy schedule, she continues to dedicate time to help underprivileged communities, particularly those suffering from stroke and paralysis.

This time, the foundation extended its assistance to three residents in Bangli. Previously, wheelchairs had also been distributed to stroke patients in the regency.

Ni Kadek Winie Kaori emphasized that her actions are a reflection of care for people whose health conditions hinder their daily activities.

“Through Kaori Welas Asih Foundation, we also pray for their recovery so they can resume their daily lives,” said Winie Kaori while handing over a wheelchair, a package of groceries, and cash donations to Ni Wayan Sinar, a paralysis patient from Banjar Gunaksa, Cempaga Village, Bangli Regency, on Friday, October 25, 2024.

Wayan Sinar’s husband, Wijaya, expressed gratitude, sharing that the family relies on their eldest son, Putu Bima, as the main breadwinner, while their daughter Kadek Purnami, who is already working, also helps support the household. Their home is also used as a small business to supplement the family’s income.

After visiting Wijaya’s family, the Kaori Welas Asih Foundation continued to Banjar Tengah Yeh Malet, Susut District, Bangli, to support two more stroke patients: 63-year-old I Nengah Agus and Jro Made Buncing.

Currently, Nengah Agus is cared for by his wife, Nyoman Nyoblong, as their two daughters are married. Winie Kaori donated a wheelchair to him along with Kaori incense as a symbol of prayer for healing and devotion to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa.

In the same banjar, Winie Kaori also presented a wheelchair to Jro Made Buncing, who has been living with stroke for the past six years.

“We hope these wheelchairs can ease the burden on the families, and may those we support through Kaori Welas Asih Foundation recover soon,” said Kaori.
