Spreading Kindness, Winie Kaori Donates Free Wheelchair

DENPASAR-Compassion and kindness have become part of the life of Ni Kadek Winie Kaori, a young,  harming, and warm-hearted entrepreneur. On Thursday, September 15, 2024, she visited one of the patients at Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital in Sanglah, Denpasar.

Her presence brought great joy to Frans Huwa, a 70-year-old grandfather from East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), who is currently suffering from a rare illness: rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune condition that causes chronic inflammation in multiple joints, including the legs. The disease has left him paralyzed, bedridden, and relying on medical care while hoping for a miracle recovery.

“Previously, our family had considered renting a wheelchair, but thanks to the donation from Kaori Welas Asih Foundation, this wheelchair has truly lightened our burden. God truly hears our prayers, and His blessings flow through Mrs. Kaori’s hands,” said Nelly, the wife of Frans Huwa.

With tears of gratitude, she sincerely offered her prayers for Kaori’s well-being. “Her generosity and compassion are truly noble. May Mrs. Kaori always be blessed with good health and a long life,” she added.

Founder of Kaori Welas Asih Foundation, Ni Kadek Winie Kaori, emphasized that her work is simply about showing care for others, especially for those facing hardship or misfortune. “Today, Kaori Welas Asih Foundation is here to support one of our brothers from Manggarai who needs a wheelchair,” she said.

“As long as we are able to do good, to help, and to be useful, that is what we will continue to do,” added the philanthropist, who also serves as Chairwoman of the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (PERWIRA) in Gianyar.

Marking Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day, Kaori reflected on its meaning: “Independence means freeing ourselves from feelings of scarcity, always being grateful in any circumstance.”

Through the donation of this wheelchair, she hopes to ease the patient’s daily activities and provide support for his family. “In the future, Kaori Welas Asih Foundation will continue to act and share kindness among those in need, from cities to villages,” she concluded.

In line with the commemoration of Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day, Kaori Group which plans to expand its business wings across the archipelago has also filled the celebration with acts of kindness and compassion for others.

Under Kaori’s leadership, Kaori Group has become a social entity committed to tirelessly contributing to humanitarian values. Today, Kaori Group oversees several subsidiaries, including Kaori Academy Center (KAC), Dupa Pasupati Kaori, Kaori Drinking Water, Kaori Rice, Pom Migo Kaorian, and Koperasi Sahabat Kaori Jaya.
